Custard Pie Recipe

Ingredients for pie base:
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Pinch of salt
Ingredients for custard filling
- 3 cups milk
- 4 tablespoon custard powder
- 3 tablespoon sugar
Garnishing – optional
Pie base direction
First, beat eggs and sugar and set them aside. Put flour in a bowl, add baking powder, a pinch of salt and now add sugar and egg in the dry ingredients. Add Vanilla and make a dough like roti dough.
Grease a baking tray and spread the paste on it. Place in a preheated oven of 180 degrees and cook until it is golden brown. It takes about 12 to 15 mins. Check with a toothpick or fork to see if the base is cooked.
Custard filling direction
Before switching on the stove, in a pot or pan, pour milk, custard and sugar mix well make sure there are co clumps. Then switch on the stove and cook the mixture. Make sure to stir continuously until the mixture is smooth. Once the mixture thickens and big bubbles start forming, pour the mixture on to pie base and let it set.
To garnish, you can drizzle condense milk mixed with lemon juice and/or sprinkle peanuts.
2 hours for the custard to be completely set at room temperature or you can refrigerate it for 1 hour and serve.
