Priyanka Chopra Jonas reacts to divorce rumours that came up after dropping her surname on social media

In November 2021, Priyanka Chopra Jonas sparked a stir when she dropped her surname Chopra-Jonas on Instagram. Fans immediately assumed that something was wrong between Priyanka and Nick Jonas after she changed her name on her social media bio. On the other hand, the actress put the rumours to rest by responding to Nick’s Instagram picture.

In recent interview with Vanity Fair, Priyanka Chopra described the spotlight placed on her social media activity as a “professional hazard” but admitted it was a vulnerable feeling. She said, “It’s a very vulnerable feeling, actually, that if I post a picture, everything that’s behind me in that picture is going to be zoomed in on, and people are going to speculate. It’s just a professional hazard…. Because of the noise of social media, because of the prevalence that it has in our lives, I think it seems a lot larger than it is. I think that we give it a lot more credence in real life, and I don’t think it needs that.”

Priyanka Chopra is one of Bollywood’s most frequent Instagram users. Priyanka’s postings receive millions of likes within minutes, thanks to her large fan base of over 70 million. It’s no surprise, then, that when she changed her name, it caused alarm among her supporters.

Priyanka has been quite productive at work. She filmed Text For You and Citadel in London towards the end of 2020 and through 2021, respectively, for The Matrix Resurrection, which was released in December 2021. The actress is working on a number of projects, including a biography of Maa Sheela, a collaboration with Mindy Kaling, and Jee Le Zaraa.
