Veteran actor Dharmendra feels that his family, which includes himself, his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol, has not been given its due despite their success in the Hindi film industry.
In a recent interview with Times Now, Dharmendra said that his family does not “market” itself and believes in letting their work speak for them. He added that Sunny Deol, despite being a part of two of the biggest blockbusters, has never boasted about them.
“But my family has never been given our due,” Dharmendra said. He went on to add that they thrive on the love of their fans and “don’t mind” the industry not recognising their contribution to Hindi cinema.
Dharmendra also mentioned that he did not receive any award for his performance in the 1969 film Satyakam, which also starred Sharmila Tagore, Ashok Kumar, and Sanjeev Kumar.
Sunny Deol’s latest release Gadar 2 has been creating box office records since its release on August 11. The actioner is all set to become the second film of the year to cross the Rs 300 cr mark after Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. Meanwhile, Dharmendra’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which was released in July, has also been a commercial success.
