Family reunited with lost dog after three years

A dog who went missing from her owners’ Arkansas home was reunited with her family three years later thanks to a microchip.

Rex and Britnee Smith said their two pit bulls, Jack and Jill, disappeared from their Little Rock back yard in July 2020.

The family searched the area, put up flyers and posted on social media, but there were no leads on the missing canines.

The Smiths eventually moved 300 miles away to McKinney, Texas, and never expected to see their pets again.

The couple said they were shocked in July when they received a call from Little Rock Animal Village with some unexpected news: Jill had been found.

The shelter said Jill was picked up as a stray and scanned for a microchip, which gave them Rex Smith’s phone number.

“It’s like she never left us,” Britnee Smith told USA Today. “We picked up right off when she left three years ago. She came right into our arms.”
