Karan Johar honoured with the Padma Shri by President Ram Nath Kovind

Karan Johar was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri award by honourable President Ram Nath Kovind at a ceremony hosted at the Rashtrapati Bhavan earlier today. Among the 119 awardees were Ekta Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Adnan Sami and late SP Balasubramaniam.
Earlier while accepting the honour, Karan Johar had written, “It’s not very often that I am at a loss for words, but this is one such occasion…The Padma Shri. Such an honour to receive one of the civilian awards in the country. Overwhelmed by so many emotions right now. Humbled, elated and also thankful for the opportunity to live my dream every day, to create and to entertain. I know my father would be proud and I wish he was here to share this moment with me. #blessed.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Karan Johar is currently working on his next directorial titled Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Karan is a prolific filmmaker who is credited with directing films like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and My Name is Khan. He also owns the production house Dharma Production under which the Hindi film industry has seen several hits over the years.
