25 Years Of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai: Shah Rukh Khan lauds Karan Johar, says the film stood the test of time: “It still has relevance”

Shah Rukh Khan arrived at one of the shows in Mumbai along with Rani and Karan. Addressing the crowd who was cheering for him, Shah Rukh Khan said, “I just want to say something which is very important to me that you know when I joined the film industry, I made some friends who are now family – Mr. Yash Chopra, Mr. Yash Johar, Karan’s late dad and he was my friend actually more than Karan. He was my friend and my friend’s son is Karan who was 24 years old when he made Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.”

He added, “It’s a great honour. 25 years of cinema. I think very few of us get opportunities like that that work that we have done so many years back is still relevant and so many lovely people like you have come here to watch it.”

Shah Rukh Khan then said that the film stood the test of time. He said, “…which happens at least for me and a lot of us, once in a lifetime. It’s 25 years since the film and Mashallah it still has relevance. It’s always how the film ages. We make films and some get forgotten with time and some do very well at that point in time and some don’t do good at all, but this is one film that has stood the test of time.”
