7 DIY FACE-COOLING MASKS TO BEAT THE SCORCHING HEAT

While summer brings with it a lot of fun and vibrance, the downside is that it can wreak havoc on your skin. As beauty fanatics ourselves, we know that dealing with sweat and humidity is no easy feat. It not only leads to makeup meltdowns but also, leaves your skin looking drab and dehydrated.
Here are some DIY face-cooling masks to your rescue…

Yoghurt + Aloe vera mask
Aloe vera mixed with yoghurt is all you need to cool yourself down after a long day out in the sun. Mix 4 tablespoons of aloe vera with a spoonful of yoghurt. Let the mask sit on your face for 15 minutes before rinsing. The cooling agents in aloe vera will make your skin feel fresh and supple.
Cocoa + Coffee + Yoghurt + Honey mask
Caffeine helps cleanse the skin and reduce puffiness. To prepare this mask, all you need to do is mix 2 tablespoons each of ground coffee, cocoa powder, yoghurt and honey. Apply the mixture to your face and let it sit for about 15 minutes before rinsing. You’ll be left with moisturised and glowing skin instantly.
Tomato + Honey mask
Tomato is known for its de-tanning properties. Therefore, it’s best to use a tomato mask as a cooling mask in summer. To prepare this mask, blend one tomato into a fine pulp and add 1 tablespoon of honey to it. Honey will help the mask stay in place. Apply and leave it on for 10 minutes.
Sandalwood + Rose Water Mask
Sandalwood makes for a great cooling agent, precisely why, because it is suitable for all skin types. All you need to do is mix 2 tablespoons of sandalwood powder with 1 tablespoon of rose water. This paste will not just leave you with glowing skin but also, a lovely fragrance.
Cucumber + Yoghurt mask
Cucumber is one of the best cooling masks to help you survive summers. Mix a fresh pulp of cucumber with a spoonful of yoghurt. Apply the paste and let it sit for about 30 minutes before rinsing. This mask will give your skin a much-needed boost of hydration.
Gram Flour + Milk + Honey mask
Gram flour has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which makes it a perfect remedy to treat skin problems in summer. All you need to do is mix 4 tablespoons of gram flour with 1 tablespoon each of milk, honey and water. Apply the mask and leave it on for 15-20 minutes before washing your face with lukewarm water.
Turmeric + Mint + Rose water mask
Turmeric powder helps you get rid of summer rashes as well as skin breakouts and mint works as a cooling agent. Prepare a fine paste by blending a few mint leaves in rose water and mixing it with a spoonful of turmeric powder. Apply the paste and let it rest on your face for 10 minutes. This mask will help you stay fresh and rejuvenated throughout the day.
