Varun Dhawan jokes about reuniting with Alia Bhatt on-screen: ‘I’m very busy, I just had a baby’

Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan were in attendance at the launch of the Zee Cine Awards 2023 on Tuesday. The actors will be performing at the show later this year. This will be the first award show that the actress will be performing at after giving birth to her daughter Raha. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia welcomed their first child in November 2022. At the same event, both the stars were asked about their much-awaited reunion on screen. Varun Dhawan said that both of them are looking for a suitable project to work on together.

The actress said that she is a bit jittery being back on stage. Speaking to the media, she said, “I’m quite nervous since it has been a while since I’ve performed on stage. I’ve not had that stage show performance adrenaline in a very long time,” adding that she couldn’t remember the last time she performed at an award show.

When asked about the much-awaited ‘Varia’ reunion on screen, Varun Dhawan joked, “I’m very busy, I just had a baby.”

He said, “Honestly, I think working with Alia is like that one time when I’m always on my toes. She always keeps me on my A-game. Any discussions which happen about creatively coming together, it always has to be the best. It has to be something that she and I love and we feel we don’t disappoint the audience. It’s an active discussion. The only reason it’s taking so much time is because we are also looking out for something best suited for us.”

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt have worked together in Student Of The Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Kalank.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt will next star in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Heart of Stone. Varun Dhawan has Bawaal and Citadel India.
