Ajwain is considered beneficial for colds and cough, and stuffy nose and can help you recover by boosting your immunity and keeping you warm from within. Try this spicy and flavourful desi concoction to feel better in a matter of minutes.
Ingredients of Ajwain Jhol
- 2 Tbsp Ajwain
- 1/2 tsp Black Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 5-6 Garlic Cloves
- 1 small Ginger
- 5-6 Black Peppercorns
- 1 medium onion (roughly chopped)
- A pinch of Haldi
- Salt according to taste
How to Make Ajwain Jhol
- Wash and soak ajwain for some time.
- In a grinder add ginger, garlic, onions, black peppercorn and some salt and make a coarse paste.
- Add soaked ajwain and grind some more.
- In a kadhai, add ghee, once it has heated, add bay leaf, black cumin and fenugreek.
- Let the seeds splutter and then add the prepared paste.
- Mix well with the ghee, and add a pinch of haldi and some salt according to your taste.
- Add 2 cups of water and let this come to a rolling boil for another 3-5 minutes.
- Take off the heat, pour a little melted ghee and some chopped coriander on top, and then serve hot.
