Easy ways to sooth Mouth Ulcer Pain and Discomfort

Mouth ulcers appear in the mouth due to malnutrition and this condition causes pain and discomfort in us which makes us unable to eat properly. Mouth ulcer is caused due to several reasons like any kind of injury, accidental biting on the cheek, rashes in the mouth or any kind of infection. There are many medications to cure this, but home remedies are always safe options for a permanent cure of the mouth ulcer. So, here’s what you should know about it.

Honey

Honey has antimicrobial properties that can cure mouth ulcers and the pain related to it. So, apply honey to the affected area frequently to heal the ulcer.

Baking soda

Make a paste of baking soda with water and apply this to the ulcer and let it dry out. Once, it’s dried, rinse it with water and gurgle. Repeat this three times a day.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is an essential part of India but very few know that it can cure a mouth ulcer as well. Apply the oil to the ulcer and leave it for some minutes. Apply it frequently even while going to bed at night as well. Coconut oil also has antimicrobial properties that kill the germs causing the ulcer.

Saltwater

Mix one tbsp of salt with lukewarm water and gargle with it to soothe the pain and discomfort. Do it three times a day to reduce the pain. You can then gurgle with normal water to remove the salty taste.

Toothpaste

Toothpaste also contains antimicrobial properties that can reduce the swelling and pain in ulcers. Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the affected area and then rinse it off after some minutes.

Clove oil

Clove oil is widely used to heal toothache and mouth ulcers. So, take the oil on a piece of cotton and apply it to the ulcers. Wait till the ulcer tissues absorb the oil.
