Green papaya roti recipe

Papita ka roti is a healthy roti for heart & cancer patients. It is an easy and simple roti recipe made with a combination of raw papaya grate, rice flour and herbs.

for green papaya akki rotti:

  • 2cup rice flour
  • ¼cup Rava / semolina / suji (coarse)
  • 1cup green papaya (grated)
  • 1onion (finely chopped)
  • ½carrot (grated)
  • 2chilli (finely chopped)
  • few curry leaves(chopped)
  • 2tbsp coriander (finely chopped)
  • 1tsp ginger paste
  • 1tsp cumin
  • ½tsp salt
  • water(for kneading)
  • oil(for roasting)

for green papaya chutney:

  • 2tsp oil
  • 1cup green papaya (grated)
  • 1cup coconut (grated)
  • small piece tamarind
  • 2tbsp roasted gram dal
  • 3chilli
  • ½cup mint
  • ½cup coriander
  • ½tsp salt
  • 1cup water

INSTRUCTIONS

 How to make green papaya akki rotti:

  1. firstly, in a large bowl take 2 cups rice flour and ¼ cup Rava. adding Rava is optional, it helps to make roti slightly soft.
  2. add 1 cup green papaya, 1 onion, ½ carrot, 2 chilli, a few curry leaves, 2 tbsp coriander and 1 tsp ginger paste.
  3. also add 1 tsp cumin, ½ tsp salt and mix well. squeeze and mix making sure everything is well combined.
  4. now slowly add water in batches and start to make a dough.
  5. add water as required to form a smooth and soft dough.
  6. you can make roti on a banana leaf, baking paper or on a wet cloth.
  7. to make on a wet cloth, place a ball sized dough and tap gently to a thin thickness.
  8. now flip over to hot Tawa and press gently.
  9. after a minute, peel the cloth off.
  10. flip over once the base is cooked.
  11. now add oil and roast both sides until it turns slightly golden.
  12. finally, enjoy papaya roti with chutney.

how to make green papaya chutney:

  1. firstly, in a pan heat 2 tsp oil and roast 1 cup green papaya.
  2. roast until the papaya turns slightly golden brown.
  3. cool completely, and transfer to the mixer jar.
  4. add 1 cup coconut, a small piece of tamarind, 2 tbsp peas and 3 chillies.
  5. also add ½ cup mint, ½ cup coriander and ½ tsp salt.
  6. Add 1 cup water grind to a smooth paste.
  7. transfer the chutney to a large bowl and pour tempering.
  8. finally, Papita ki chutney is ready to enjoy with roti, dosa or idli.
