Ranbir Kapoor reveals Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar was shot without a script; says, “We shot TJMM for 180 days, woh bhi script ke bina”

Recently, Shraddha Kapoor, while talking to the media as part of the promotions of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, said that she’s nervous as she’s returning to the big screen after three years. Interestingly, her co-star Ranbir Kapoor was also in a similar situation last year when he was releasing Shamshera (2022) four years after the release of his previous film, Sanju (2018).
“The reasons for my delay were different. Brahmastra took time. My father (late Rishi Kapoor) fell ill and I had to spend time in New York. But I was not insecure thinking ‘2 ya 3 saal baad film aa rahi hai’. Knowing Shraddha, she was also not in that category. We were happy and blessed that we both were working on a film like this.”
Talking about Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, Ranbir Kapoor remarked, “When you work in a romcom, you feel that it’ll be very easy. Lekin iss film mein bahut mehnat gayi, in every scene and song. Such films are usually shot in 120 days. We shot this film for 180 days, which is not normal, woh bhi script ke bina! Shah Rukh Khan came after 4 years (with Pathaan) and see what his film did. Hence, an actor should not feel insecure, especially if the content is good and if you are an accepted actor. If the audience feels that ‘yeh actor audience ke liye kuch accha karna chahte hai’, then they’ll come and give the film your chance.”
Meanwhile, Luv Ranjan was in a fun mood as he talked about Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar. He said, “Maine film ko chhupa ke rakhi hai. I have not given out the film’s story in the trailer.”
